We have been doing a LOT of reading to get ourselves started this year.  We have read out of our reading book, out of Scholastic News, and National Geographics.  We often read together because that's way more fun than doing anything alone.

One of the students in our class was kind enough to bring in a Monarch caterpillar chrysalis and we had a lot of fun watching it change and eventually break out of its chrysalis becoming a butterfly.  We took it outside later in the day and released to to migrate south.
